When you give a kid a bike…his roads ahead are limitless!
Student gets a bike and now can take himself to school!
In May, we received an email from a member of the LAUSD Division of Student Health and Human Services. The email detailed a plea for assistance for a student at a local middle school. The student, a young boy, was facing challenges due to his father’s chronic illness, which hindered the provision of reliable transportation to and from school. Despite his strong desire to attend school, the student’s attendance was declining. The Ride! Foundation stepped in, securing a bicycle for the enthusiastic 6th grader, providing a helmet, and arranging for a professional to impart essential safety skills for his daily commute to school.
This success story was made possible through the generosity of donations to the Ride! Foundation. Thanks to these contributions, we were able to not only furnish the young student with a means of transportation for his education but also provide him with a source of enjoyment and freedom—mirroring the joy many experience when they receive their first bike.
